Vårgårda Herrljunga Biogas, a leading producer of biogas for vehicles, has recently implemented an innovative Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to enhance their operational efficiency and contribute to sustainable energy practices. This strategic installation serves a multifaceted purpose, ranging from providing ancillary services
such as FCR-D and FFR, to engaging in energy arbitrage and peak shaving activities and possibly reserve power at a later stage.
The integration of the BESS represents a significant milestone in Vårgårda Herrljunga Biogas' commitment to optimizing energy consumption. While the biogas production process itself is not directly linked to the battery investment, to be able to provide support to the electricity grid, in addition to the already fossile free energy
production, is in line with their longterm ambitions.
Notably, this project exemplifies a synergy between technological innovation and environmental stewardship. By leveraging their existing grid capacity and recognizing the revenue potential of BESS, Vårgårda Herrljunga Biogas has positioned themselves as a trailblazer in the renewable energy sector. Their proactive approach not only facilitates grid support but also unlocks new avenues for revenue generation, showcasing their adaptability and forward-thinking mindset.
Capture Energy, as a key partner in this endeavor, plays a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless integration of the BESS. Through collaborative efforts and expertise in energy solutions, Capture Energy empowers organizations like Vårgårda Herrljunga Biogas to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the evolving energy landscape. This partnership exemplifies the potential for innovation-driven collaborations to drive sustainable growth and address the pressing challenges of our time.
