Batteries and Wind Power on Åland
Capture Energy has successfully completed our first installation in Finland, specifically on the island of Åland, located between Sweden and Finland. The newly deployed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is situated next to a wind power plant operated by our customer, Allwinds. Established in 2011, Allwinds is the leading wind power service provider on Åland, responsible for the maintenance of all 28 wind turbines on the island.

This BESS installationis a significant milestone for Åland’s energy landscape, enhancing grid stability and supporting the island community’s transition to a more resilient and sustainable power supply. Additionally, it creates new revenue opportunities for Allwinds by enabling the delivery of ancillary services to the grid.
BESS PowerBox 1 MW/1.1 MWh, 400 VAC – Now installed in all Nordic countries except Iceland!
With this project, Capture Energy now has battery systems connected to the grid in all Nordic countries except Iceland, with installations in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. We are proud to be contributing to the region’s energy resilience and supporting our clients in maximizing the value of renewable energy assets.
